This is a set of photos of a modified Model 1-A engraver, located in New Hampshire.
The pedestal is very definitely that of a model 1 series, but the upper works look
to be from a different (custom?) engraver. The telescoping post is not something that
existed on any Gorton model; the motor housing is likewise not something from a
known production Gorton engraver/pantograph.
The net result is a truly unique and very clever machine.
The one thing I am most curious about is how the upper works are locked in place
given the nature of the spiral on the central column.
