August, 1976 trip to Colorado

This trip started from Racine; various sequential photos (according to notes) are Of the jeep trips, only a couple of photos are definitive: the very, very red mountain is definitely Red Mountain; the in-the-tunnel photo (time elapsed with Dad firing the strobe periodically) is definitely Pride of the West tunnel.

We took a number of vacations to Deer Valley Ranch in Buena Vista Colorado, and stayed in one of the cabins. Various hummingbird photos, as well as pictures of the Chalk cliffs behind the cabin during a rainstorm, and a view across the valley, some late-evening lightning

These probably are of the Red Mountain trip, but not definitive.

Trip to Pride of the West RR portal

At the time, we thought 'The Pride of the West' was a mine. It turns out to have been an uncompleted railroad tunnel/portal.
