A silver chest

A wedding present for Dan & Belinda Potts of Sydney. As in New South Wales, Opera House, etc. First (and second) attempt to make dovetails. I ended up buying a sears craftsman jig, and the instructions to assemble it were a bit iffy, but the usage instructions were just fine. On, the first attempt, I had cut the lengths & widths wrong, and it was easier to start over from scratch. Besides which, this became a wedding present, so I wanted it to be as good as I could make it. Overall, the only glitches encountered were: 1) glue seeped through the felt while drying in a couple of places; 2) the chain streches. A fix for #1 (thanks, veldaar!) is to use hot glue at edges/corners only; number 2 can be fixed by using a different type of chain. Used the router to gut a groove into the lid for the sides attached to the top to sit in, and cut a groove at the bottom of the lower interior sides (for the base to attach to).
