Poplar, with honey locust feet, and birch towel rods. Maple leaves and copper
tubing are glued/varnished on. Unfortunately, the base isn't heavy enough to
prevent it from tipping over easily, which has resulted in a couple of the rods
to break off. The other experimental failure was that I was hoping that by
liberal use of varnish, I could keep a nice bright green set of leaves contrasting
with the copper. Turned into firewood in 2006, except for the feet, which
might get recycled.
But it was very educational as a first usage of a router (for the feet)
